Sketch - Train in My Journal

Reading through my old journal/sketchbook I ran across an entry where I had
apparently (and recently) went on a date with my wife to "The Aviator" and
was first inspired to decorate my office in a 'travel' theme. Still hasn't
happened, but I can dream.... and write....

Productivity - Inbox Zero

For many months I have been keeping my inbox clean using this method. So far I have fallen off the wagon for short periods of time - allowing a 'todo' item to stick in my inbox because I know I would see it the next day. For the largest portion of time I do have an empty inbox and it does feel good and productive.

I have on occasion been asked, did you get 'such-n-such' email and had no clue. A blank stare back or a 'hum a few bars' request usually helped to snap the memory back into shape.

I have learned to jockey my email search engine and several times it has saved the day within only a few minutes. I have to believe this is an improvement over scrolling down thousands of emails in the inbox to find whatever this person is talking about. Overall I am quite happy with this program and may even suggest it to others drowning in inbox overload.

Regretfully, my boss has yet to take it seriously and twice during this testing phase has reverted to email bankruptcy as I stifle an evil chuckle.

Sketch - Conch

A conch I drew many years ago. I don't know why it insists on being rotated 90 degrees.

Sketch - Chair

The chair that graces my dining room with such dignity.

Sketch - Chopin

So I'm on a bus in Poland going from Warsaw to Poznan. We stopped to visit a memorial devoted to Chopin - a composer that Poland is so very proud of. We were handed pamphlets of an event in his honor. I found his face to be interesting in an artistic sense.

Sketch - Fenceposts

Probably the first sketch I've been able to spend a good amount of time on in a long time.

Sketch - My Wife

She doesn't really care for this picture. I like it. :)

Sketch - Plantation in Baton Rouge

The memory I had of a plantation we toured in Baton Rouge. I learned why people say "Sleep Tight" and how they got rid of guests who had worn out their welcome.

Sketch - Police Cruiser

The future of mobile law enforcement - or at least what it was in my head at the time.

Sketch - My Cat in Chalk

She usually watches me draw while on her back, staring up at me. I don't know if she cares for my hobby. I think she would prefer to play.

Sketch - Entertainment Center Design Idea

An entertainment center and lounge that will probably never happen... except on this paper.

Sketch - Underneath Bridge (Ink)

Bored at Barnes and Noble, waiting.... So I sketched out a bridge and tried to give the impression I was underneath it. It came out as more of a confusing composition of metal. Oh well.

Sketch - City Street (Ink)

Quick ink drawing I doodled in a few minutes.

Sketch - Spooky Bayou

Just a sketch I did after visiting a spooky bog in Baton Rouge.

The First Post

Nervously I posted... What will this blog be about? We shall see.
